I was.

It was pure bliss to sit on the bus and read and not have somone poking me and asking me questions and generally annoying me.

I have been off since Dec 20 and it felt a verrrrrrrry long time indeed.

I went to the library for a blissful 20 minutes without anyone wanting to play Ludo.

I have gone round the shops in my lunch hour and walked peacefully instead of dragging one and screeching at the other.

And had a hot cup of tea.

And not answered any questions at all.

Or put shoes on friggin Barbie for the 100th time.

The Inferiorettes have gone to play with a friend. It's quite marvellous. Suddenly the prospect of working on Thursday looks very enticing indeed.

I have to confess that the first day I went back to work after my first maternity leave (bear in mind I work from home, and also that I'd been very isolated on mat leave) I heaved an absolutely huge sigh of relief and felt 'at least the words do what I want'.

Its the bl**dy Thomas the Tank engine music that is doing my head in....that and having to name every engine....I never thought I'd be able to identify a steam train from 100 yrds - now where shall I put that on my CV

I'm going back tomorrow (CAN'T WAIT...)

Ooooh, yes! I was getting quite twitchy not being able to access the 12 zillion viagra e mails that have languished in my InBox, (still no internet acess in new house) and at least I know where things are in the heap on my desk - I don't even know where we have tidied things to in our new cupboards at home. And however much I love DS, the incessant punctuation of my waking hours by 'Mummy...' 'MUM!!!' makes me think ee cummings had a point.

Blu dearest, nestling in the Viagra is an invite to lunch chez Twiglett. Also quite possibly a Christmas email from moi.

Mr Inferior has fixed himself a sustaining snack of Doritos and cashew nuts and is clearly resigned to the agony of a few child-free hours too.
