How do you make yourself get up in the morning???

I know my life would run smoother (term time) if I were to get up at half six, get sorted, have a cup of tea, run a bath to chuck DD in when she wakes etc.... but I wake then, groan, pass out til half seven, then run round insanely!

DS wakes several times in the night and I'm just bloody tired.

How do I sort of power through the tiredness???

Coffee machine next to bed?? Wake, flip switch, drink super strong coffee...

If I am feeling awful I lean over the edge of the bed and hang my head toawrds the floor, the blood then rushes to my head and it helps me wake up.

twinsetandpearls · 30/12/2006 21:57

We also have sleepy sex most mornings which is a nice way top gradually wake up!

charliecat · 30/12/2006 21:57

I dont, I hear the kids at five to eight and stumble out of bed tripping over a heap of crap, shout "Breakkkkkyyy" and 2 little zombies are at the table
Then I dig through clothes drawers wrecking the place, pull shoes out of cupboard and stuff lunch boxes and somehow do 3 lots of hair faces and teeth and get out the door for 8.25.

id like one of those lumie alarm clocks (are they the things that simulate dawn? the light things?) and id like to wake up to music and turn on the light and stretch and get ready... but i share a room. with dp and the baby. dont want to wake the baby if hes sleeping, and dont want to disturb dp if he has the chance for a bit more sleep.. so i would just have to slink silently out of the room, then find i dont have what i need to get dressed/ready for the day... i need to get organised. and i should prob be discussing this with dp rather than a bunch of starngers on the internet!!

twinsetandpearls · 30/12/2006 22:04

sleepy sex on the landing! It has been done in our house many a time!

twinsetandpearls · 30/12/2006 22:04

What is a lumie clock?

2007nervesleft · 30/12/2006 22:05

Yes nappies - I would like one because they light up gradually over 15 mins. I find it sooo much easier to get up in the summer.

Nemo2007 · 30/12/2006 22:06

lol FS I think DD and DB will be waiting to get dressed until I get back as DD takes longer than DS who essentially dressed himself[only bonus of an independent 3yr old] but DD is 12mths so obviously needs dressing..lol

divamumdiva · 30/12/2006 22:08

have u got kids twinsetpearl

CaptainFlameSparrow · 30/12/2006 22:09

Bah, just chuck some jeans at her and tell her to get on with it These babies thinking they are babies, I dunno...

I think the sleepy sex would be better to just chuck DS back in his cot than the landing!!!

twinsetandpearls · 30/12/2006 22:12

Just one little girl.

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 30/12/2006 22:15

oh i have sleepy sex too... i have some scheduled for april actually...

2007nervesleft · 30/12/2006 22:15

Twinset - it is an alarm clock that supposedly simulates dusk and dawn. It has a SAD thing bulb in it which is why it costs upwards of £60 I think. I don't need the SAD bulb just want a light that comes on gradually so I'm not blinking and staggering about in the morning feeling like my eyeballs are going to explode.

twinsetandpearls · 30/12/2006 22:19

why april!?

TinsellyRhino · 30/12/2006 22:20

I think we may have sleepy (very sleepy) sex in may

db3 due in feb

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 30/12/2006 22:50

um, we move back into our (by then beautiful and spacious) house in april and ds3 will sleep in a bedroom with his brothers, instead of in his cot in our room and we can finally resume having spontaneous sex. or any sex at all. yay!!

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 30/12/2006 22:50

congrats TR and good luck

VoodooGooseFat · 30/12/2006 23:13

TR it took me 6mths+ to get back in the saddle.................................

WeFrizyouamerrychristmas · 30/12/2006 23:15

Get my dh flame, I can loan him if you like, he thinks a lie in finishes at 8am and will physically insist/drag you out of bed if your not moving

expatinscotland · 30/12/2006 23:17

In answer to the OP: I think about the fucking rent.

That's how I get up.

I'm tired.

I'm on all kinds of fucking meds.

I hate my fucking job.

But dammit, someone's got to pay the fucking rent.

So I get up.

But I set up the coffee maker every night .

Lidl has GREAT coffee, too!
