i would go round there and scream in person if i werent pregnant.we only moved in 5 weeks ago and have since found out that the previous tennant moved out because of next doors weekly karaoke nights(4 children aged 6-13 murdering various songs on a poor quality sound system).i asked the mother the first time it happened if it could be turned down, and she was v.apologetic and acted like she hadnt realised it could be heard.but it went on again the following week and my polite requests were ignored,so dp threatened to ring the police which pd the woman off.
the other night it was on again sowe rang the police, who had a word with them and told us to contact environmental health(which i have done and am waiting to hear back from them).but cos the police said there was little they could do before 11pm,next door now think that its ok to have this shite blaring out so i cant even hear the telly, not to mention the fact that it can be heard in the first and second floor back bedrooms(where dd2 age 1 and ds2 age 3 are trying to sleep),untill 11pm at night.
why are some people so bloody inconsiderate and up their own aes?????

If they are renting the house there is bound to be a clause in the tenancy agreement against causing a nuisance. You really need toi contact the landlord and tell them that you will be seeking legal advice about enforcing tis term!
I really sympathise with you. Rented next to inconsiderate people over the summer-it was hell. Your home no longer feels like the haven it should be.
I really wish you luck in this.

twiglett-i tried the reasonable mother approach first as i thought it would be for the best and she may not have realised how loud it was.but it seems she had already been round to listen to how loud it was when the last person lived here.she just doesnt care.
ive got a good idea who the landlord is so i may see what they have to say.

i must have lived a shelterd life before i moved up here thats all i can say,i honestly thought all parents were mature and responsible and wanted to set an example to their children.
