My 13 year old will spend all day on Messenger, myspace etc if she could and I'm sick of telling her to come off. she's reasonable computer-savvy and understands security etc, but she's just become totally anti-sicial to the rest of the family. Rather than continue to have a go at her all the time(there's enough other things to have a go at her about!) I'd like to get a bit of software to restrict her time spent - will also be useful for the other child for the future!!. I've found Kidswatch, an American programm costing around $30. Anyone tried it or have any other ideas???

same problem here, made a 2 hour limit, I dontknow if that is too long actually, but have more than one child but only DS (12) hoggs it so much. On th eother hand he does enjoy MSN and would be interested in ideas too>?

I'm with BT Broadband and I can set parental controls including specific times for access. I'm a bit ignorant about stuff like this but would that be an option?

thanks catj, but need something that will give each dd say 1-2 hrs per day during the week and say max 3hrs at weekend
What I found was Kidswatch Time Control at theregister.co.uk which does have a 30 free trial, so if no-one can come up with anything else i will try it

I have Net Nanny, which has time limits on it, but I've never used them as my DD is only 10 and my main concern was blocking inappropriate websites. It cost £26 from amazon.

Forget the kids! Wish someone would restrict my time on MN!

my ds(13) is on the net constantly, but he's making friends with people from all over the world and i feel it's good for him and am that i didn't have it at my age!

just keep checking the sites she's visited if you're worried?
