Not to put too fine a point on it, I am getting me snatch waxed tomorrow, I have never had it done before and I am really nervous about it . Is there 'wax etiquette' I should be aware of or anything . One of my friends has recommended I take some painkillers before I have it done. Any other tips?

I suppose what I am most scared of is the possibility of the person doing the waxing laughing at my 'you could lose a badger in it' bush!!! Do beauty therapists laugh at other womens bits??!
Sorry to put folks off their tea and everything, but should I trim it down a bit tonight so there's not as much there...??

So many questions .. help!! I suppose the most important one is, is it worth it?

Yep the brownie points it earns you are reason enough to do it, even without the silky soft fanjo you can't start stop touching...but maybe that was just me.

I said that to my sis cod, as she has shaved ALL hers off. I don't think I'd like to have none at all. Surely most men like a tidy one?

my dh loves it too

smileys - god this is so grim, but I'm having top lip (moustache!) and I also suffer with hair on my chinny chin chin, and some around the sides of my neck. The trouble is, I've plucked for years, since I was 15, I'm now 32. I always said I would investigate laser as my facial hair is the bain of my life. Personally, if it costs me £500, I think it's worth it. I feel so much more confident already. Let me know if you want details of where I go.

Peggotty - hope the trim went well. Don't do what I did once and catch your lady bits OWWWWWW!

Blimey I'm revealing a lot of secrets in this damn thread!!

SmileysPeople · 12/12/2006 23:04

Sounds worth it Luckymummy, does it hurt? I've been told we'll all get hairier as we get older so probably worth getting it done now. is it a national clinic you go to then?

I think Dh and other men like the brazilian wax thing, as it just has a suggestion of being a bit dirty, nothing to do with how it actually looks (which to be frank was a bit odd)more with what it suggests, and actually it mad me a feel a bit that way too....now I'm revealing too much in this thread.

and Cod show me a man who doesn't like a suggestion of dirtyness ( particularly from the mother of his 2 children who had been feeling FAR from minx like for a good while.)It Looks strange but well worth it.

It is unattractive or at least v strange looking, but as I said in my experience at least it was the fact I had done something which had an implication of dirty sex to follow, that was the turn on and not how it actually looks (also as i said earlier did not intend to have it all off!)
And it can't be just wierdo men because:

  1. LOADS of them do like it, maybe for reasons stated above, and 2)I suprised myself and liked it beacuse it did make me feel I'd done something a bit daring, and I did feel a bit minxy sex Goddess come and get it boys like, and I hadn't felt like that in a while.

If by weird you mean dirty, then I'd agree, but that's just what we needed. Who wants wholesome ethical sex?

It was a shock when it was all gone and I haven't repeated it, but have had the landing strip thing, which is asthetically more pleasing.
but as I say I think it's the idea more than anything, we hadn't had a weekend like that in a while! (went away day after I'd had it done for our wedding anniversary)and it was like old times!

luckymummy2sophie · 13/12/2006 09:01

smileys - I go to a clinic in Herts but they have clinics in London. Check out

www.laser-active.co.uk

If you decide to go for it, make sure you go with a legit copmany. I'm really pleased with laser active.

No it doesn't really hurt, bit of an occasional sting, but no-where near as bad as waxing!!

Talking of which, how did it go Peggotty??!! Silky smooth and loving it?

Peggotty · 13/12/2006 13:40

Well the deed is done!! Wasn't that sore actually. The beauty therapist was all for just taking the sides off as I hadn't had it done before, but I kept asking her to take a little bit more off, and then some off the top . It's far from a brazilian, but looking very neat ... the pubic topiary equivalent of a short-back-and-sides probably . I'm really glad I had it done. Suspect the regrowth will be pretty quick though, and of course, I have to go around looking like a plucked chicken in that department for a little while. It's sad, but I'm quite proud of myself for going through with it, as I've always had a bit of a phobia about baring any bits to strangers. It took me far too long to arrange a smear. Maybe having babies does blunt your sensitivity to these things a bit after all...

Well done girl.It sounds lovely. It is nice when done, you feel (temporarily)like one of those perfectly groomed women.
That's V brave for a first time. It'll just get esier and easier now.
What does your Dh think?

Peggotty · 13/12/2006 18:39

Not showed him it yet Smileyspeople!! Still resembling a plucked chicken at the moment, so I'm fairly sure he won't be sweeping me into bed for any mad passion just yet!!
I think I will be a convert to this waxing malarkey - I do feel well groomed
