Every year it's the same, the warmer weather comes and i'm suddenly thinking 'oh dd1 needs shorts or dd2 needs tshirts e.t.c'.

Ds has one pair of shorts to his name and as for me, i need a complete new wardrobe.

Every summer i say to myself 'next year i'll be more organised and save some money up to get stuff for everyone in april/may or whatever and i never do.

Am going to have to order a few things from Next i think, otherwise we'll all be running round in our undies

Nutty - go to Asda (if there is one near you) their kids clothes are really nice and SOOO cheap - a quid for vest tops.
In fact go there for you - I got some work suits for less that 20 quid!

Nutcracker · 17/05/2004 17:01

Yeah, god knows how but i always forget Asda.
I have an enormous one just down the road too.

Thanks Momof2

Hi Nutty, if you've got a peacocks/QS shop near you, it's like tesco's/ Asda's stuff, clothes about £3 cheaper and really lovely....cottony/embroidered tops got for dd, looked about £10 were only £4.and cutey jogging bottoms etc..ds has only pair of shots too

beachyhead · 17/05/2004 17:02

Hennes is fab too for cheaper kids clothes and good T shirts for me.

lydialemon · 17/05/2004 17:48

Nutty, I know how you feel! I got the 'summer clothes' box down in preparation for our holiday (roll on saturday!) and discovered that DS1 had 1 pair of shorts for the summer and 90% of his tshirts were too small. We're lucky as we have a separate George shop in Croydon, so I went for a look in there and ,for £36.20, got
DS1 - 4 pairs of shorts, and 2 tshirts
DD - summer 'all-in-one' and tshirt
DH - pair of shorts
me - 2 tshirts
I will admit though that I did then go and buy DS1 and DD packs of Next tshirts, but that seems to be the only place you can get nice 'plain' ones, that will go with anything.

The advantage of a fast-growing child is that last year's trousers now make perfect shorts.

coppertop · 17/05/2004 18:06

Just joking btw - before you all start picturing ds bursting out of his clothes!

I had actually saved some of Ds's shorts from last year, god knows why cos they wouldn't even fit over one leg now

Dd2 is usually o.k as she has all of dd1's stuff.

I just thought i had kept alot of their stuff from last year, but it seems i haven't.

Nutcracker · 17/05/2004 19:27

Is the kids stuff good ?? I have only really brought underwear and pj's so far.

Unfortunatly not Liz.
I tend too chuck stuff out as soon as it doesn't fit at the mo.

Think i'll have a quick look on ebay too, see if i can spot any bargains.

MATALAN!!! They have some lovely stuff!

motherinferior · 17/05/2004 19:31

Not sure about the boys's stuff but the little girls' is enchanting. Picked up a gorgeous little cotton frock with crinkle skirt for £6.
