Is it me or does anyone else find Eastenders too tied up in aggresiveness and nastiness nowadays. I used to watch it loads but I really hate the nasty stuff all the time. It is full of violence, and tonight even rape. Just such unpleasant viewing, and way before the 9pm watershed. But there is no way I would want a child of mine watching some of the stuff on it. I can't bring myself to watch it most of the time now.

What do other peole think? Is it just me who thinks it just isn't necessary?

Something else Ive noticed. When someone punches someone else, it never looks real. They should at least put more effort into it!!! lol

Have stopped watching 'stenders completely and DON'T miss it one tiny bit. I can see what's going on when I go past the magazine racks in tesco's on the front of mags that pretend it's real life, depicting tableaus of the characters with faces like smacked arses staring at each other.
Corrie manages to have the occasional gritty storyline without making me feel sullied like 'stenders seems to. Corrie's also warm and funny and I care about the characters (in an non-obsessive-I-have-actually-got-a-life-kind-of-way).
Eastenders has fallen into the Emmerdale/Brookside trap of killing someone or blowing something up or raping someone as soon as they can't think of anything new to write about. It's pants and so are the horrible characters. (and I used to watch it religiously!)
