I've chucked this is other subjects as it could go in many a topic.
What's your dc's (or yours if you're. Teacher) school policy on sending home sick?
Dd was off sick yesterday with sore throat. Yes it was bad, it started on Monday at school and she was in tears but they didn't send her home then?
She had yesterday off as she was struggling to swallow etc but was fine by 2/3ish. Today I get a phone call just before lunch to be told that dd is ill and needs to be picked up, she's burning up etc, I, dutiful mum goes to pick her up (being a bit annoyed as dd has very merrily been dancing around the house this morning and had the usual argument to get dressed, while I was on the phone to DM re: dd being ill, and even DM said she was fine to go back in) and get to the door to pick her up, dd is grining from ear to ear, and definitely not burning up.
She gets in the car and tells me she's looking forward to a DVD afternoon and then has a full on strop when I tell her if she's too ill for school then she needs to have a lie down and sleep.
Have I missed the stage where primary schools would say 'see how you feel after lunch' (exception being d&v and obviously ill)?
And just send home when child says they're ill.
Actually now I've read it back I'm not sure what I'm asking. Think I'm more annoyed that I currently have a 5 year old telling me she's not ill and is running round the house, but it's early finish today and there's no point sending her back in to school for an hour.
So what's you're schools sending home policy?
