Would you let a 3yo watch Harry Potter?

Hi, just wanted to know your thoughts, mil let ds watch the first Harry Potter film when she was minding him one recent afternoon (at her house) and I was in shock when she told me! At 3?? Am I over-reacting?

mine have seen all the HP films, they are now 21months, 4 and 6. they are not films they watch on their own, but sit down family films. i was a bit unsure of them seeing the last one (goblet of fire) but dd1+2 wanted to watch it (dd3 was quite young) so we sat and watched it altogether, and i said we could switch it off at any moment if they wanted.

they absolutly loved it, but dd2 shuts her eyes during ther bits with the death eaters. and fell asleep before the end.
