I'm afraid I'm guilty of the odd dirty nappy bag by the bin in the back yard as well. Sit there until me or dh rounds them up. We live in a terrace with high walled yard so you would really have to be looking to get offended by them. But if the foxes are dumping them in your garden, maybe a polite word. However, putting them in the bin might not stop the foxes.

I'm with Maisystar and Flip - I used to lob dirty nappies (enclosed in a knotted carrier bag) out of the cat flap - I could land them right next to the bin.

They would be picked up and put in the dustbin at my convenience. The reason for not opening the door every time is that it has a deadlock and 2 key bolts to undo (paranoia about burglars)

My door and bins are at the side of my house in a narrow passage so not in plain view in the back garden.

I'd like to know why foxes find dirty nappies so attractive.

Codswallop · 11/05/2004 11:01

I have been known to chuck them from the bedroom windwo and then go adown and put hem int he bin - but that was straight away

once or twice. as aentertianment (see sad thread)

A friend once chucked a nappy out of her window and it landed on the roof of their people carrier. She then forgot about it until next morning when she realised her dh had driven off with stinky nappy still on the car roof!

OK, I think I misuderstood at first. When you said a full nappy bag, I thought you meant a whole rubbish bag full of nappies. I couldn't understand how they were going through so many nappies! Now I realise that each dirty nappy is individually wrapped in a bag. Hey, at least they put them in a bag! Just kidding - it is pretty gross really.

Could you buy some kind of cheap bin and position it strategically on their front grass - just as a hint! You have to be careful when throwing nappies out of door, or downstairs. Its horrific when they burst! The gel goes everywhere.

Have to confess that I too have thrown pooey nappies out of our 3rd floor window. Anything to get rid of the stink during bathtime, cant leave 2 kiddies in the bath on their own afterall, when suffering from major 24/7 morning sickness. In my defence they do go in the bin as soon as the kids are in bed, about an hour later!
