Google "stage flats" or "theatre flats" - thats one techical term for it. There's all sorts of different stuff out there. Sorry I don't know anyone that hires it out though

I know - it's daft. When I first started doing am-dram and everyone was going on about "getting the flats" I thought they meant...well...apartment type flats

(Don't get me going about French braces!)

Good idea. They'll be able to advise you on best types, maybe give you some numbers etc (or let you have some of their old stuff v cheap!)

I seem to remember the words rostrum and podium being bandied about at school plays, not sure if there's a difference. HTH

I'd call them rostrum myself. Not sure about suppliers though.
