E-bay etiquette - when should I hassle this person/ leave negative feedback?

I bought something on Ebay on the 1st of November and paid for it that day.

It still hasn't arrived. On Thursday (9th) I e-mailed the person and asked them when they're going to post it. Yesterday I e-mailed them again.

No answer. So. How many days should I leave before e-mailing them threatening to leave negative feedback for them? And what can I do about getting the item/ my money back?

Are they a professional seller? Is the item coming from inside the UK?

It's possible they've gone off for a weekend or there's some sort of chaos. If they're not professional, I'd give it a few more days. As long as you paid by paypal, I think you can get your money back up to 30? 60? days after payment, pretty much no questions asked.

I'd give it a bit longer - say middle of next week - don't leave them negative feedback just yet because they may be away or have problems with their computer etc - you could always report them to ebay for an item not received and they will take the matter into their own hands and start emailing them on your behalf. Have you checked their feedback? Have they already had negative feedback? Don't worry. If you've paid by Paypal you will get your money back.

It looks like they're a private seller and I've just looked at their previous feedback, they seem to be fine. Maybe I'm just being impatient, I've never usually had to wait longer than about 4 days for an e-bay item. Is about two weeks the right amount of time to give them?

I'll be honest.....I think two weeks is plenty long enough, especially when you've paid by Paypal and they've not had to wait for a payment to clear (cheque etc) - when you report the matter to ebay as an item not received they will give you the option to add that you've sent emails etc - make sure you add this in. It maybe perfectly genuine especially if you've checked their feedback rating and its good. Have you had a look to see if they've received feedback on items that were sold after you bought yours? Or have you checked to see if they've left feedback for other people around the time you've sent your emails? That way you'll know if their computer has been active and they are avoiding contacting you. I'd get on and report them to Ebay anyway.
