Midweek break next week - any suggestions??

My dp is off work at the mo and due to start a new job in a weeks time, I want to go for a midweek break but somewhere not too far from where we live (and hour, maybe twos drive from us). We live in frimley surrey. Main things are that my ds's (17 months and 5 weeks) are able to have fun without peeing off everyone else - so family friendly is essential.

Any ideas?

Ask BK she is queen of the short break!!

How about brighton? If the weather is nice it's great.

Come and see me Spikeycat. I live near the M25 in a Herts village. We have a travelodge on the site of a lovely 400 years old mill which has been converted into a pub restaurant. Gorgeous food in a lovely setting, it has a huge field for kids to play in, river running by with ducks geese and carp and a machine where you can get food for them. There's also a playground with swings etc. Fields adjoining have horses and donkeys to go and pat. You can walk a scenic walk along the river for a mile from the mill.

St Albans is a 10 minute drive away and is a lovely city for tourists with a huge park, Roman museums and remains, an abbey, theatres and restaurants and a brilliant Saturday street market.

The travelodge in question is at Moor Mill, Smug Oak Lane, Bricket Wood, 5 mins from junction 21A of the M25.
