And why?
I quite like Boden but have been finding that a lot of their t shirts are too fitted.I like a bit of bagginess over the stomach area.

Does anyone else have trouble finding tops that are long enough on the high street?
A lot of companies make their tops too short and I'd hate to have my stomach showing.

I've recently discovered Gelco and Olsen.Anyone else a fan?

I agree layla but had always put it down to my fat tummy rather than their lack of fabric!

I like Linea clothes usually but went there the other day and didn't much like any of it. In fact I don't like a lot of what is around so far for summer this year.

Janstar · 30/04/2004 14:32

Monsoon, definitely. Their colours and styles are just 'me'. Unfortunately their prices aren't, so I spend most of my time in George at Asda or Primark clothes, reserving my small Monsoon collection for evenings out and occasions where no one wipes snot or peanut butter on you

Tissy · 30/04/2004 14:33

I love Boden, too, but being short (5'2", none of their trousers/ skirts/ dresses fit me properly. Recently got a couple of their tops, and although they seem to fit around the tummy, they are rather too low-cut. I must be getting old

Tissy · 30/04/2004 14:35

Strange, definitely did not type a semicolon there!

Tissy · 30/04/2004 14:36

It seems you get a smiley wit a " and a ), too!

Momp · 30/04/2004 14:36

I love Monsoon too, Janstar, but whenever I tend to wash any of their garments, they end up shrinking?

I agree with you about Boden, Layla. My classic beige stretch bootlegs are the most comfist trousers I have ever owned.

maisystar · 30/04/2004 14:38

like h&m quiksilver diesel etc but go to tk maxx, get loads of stuff off ebay and LOVE primark!!

lots of skatey stuff seems to be longer at the front than back therefore giving the illusion of vague slimness from the back whilst hiding what i can only describe as a pouch at the front

layla · 30/04/2004 14:38

Lol CountD.And aren't the shorts rather short again this year?
Hate numbers on tops too.I think next do a lot of numbers.

Great trousers Boden, but jersey tops tend to shrink.

Like Monsoon, but for special occassions, I really like East.

Started going to Phase Eight last year, not many around, but Yasmin le Bon did some gorgeous advertising for them last year, which tempted me in, unfortunately didnt come out looking similar!

Got a nice linen top in Next today, they've got quite a good mix of things in at the mo.

My Per Una jeans are the best I have had for years.

layla · 30/04/2004 14:40

Does anyone know the average price for a swimming costume around town,I must have a new one this year?
Can't beleive I have to pay 39 pounds at Boden, but do like their navy one.

Monsoon, Per Una and some Boden, love Boden style but always disappointed after a few washes, the fit is not always me too.
Their skirts are fab though, Per Una and Monsoon and M+S for tops though...

wobblyknicks · 30/04/2004 15:01

Mango, Quicksilver, Diesel and Gap. Its horrible though, the only one within about 100 miles of me is Ouicksilver, all the rest refuse to come down to our strange county!!!

bluesky · 30/04/2004 15:06

layla M&S are £26-£32ish.

miggy · 30/04/2004 15:11

Live in boden cords-v faded lilac and pink (2 prs-not together) and stripey fleeces. Agree jersey tops always seem small and shrink.
Love monsoon but only tend to buy tops as am short and the trousers/skirts seem to loose all the lovely sequin bits if you shorten them.
Like East too but same height probs.
Dorothy perkins-petites for trousers, quite nice.

noddy5 · 30/04/2004 15:12

la redoute and jigsaw when I can afford it

Angeliz · 30/04/2004 15:13

H+M as it's so different and quirky

Frenchgirl · 30/04/2004 15:20

Always seem to end up in Gap at the moment, went in yesterday and they had fab skirts, tops and short jackets (but ended up buying stuff for dd who is always far better dressed than me...)

Demented · 30/04/2004 17:13

Mostly Per Una, M&S & Next, not out of choice but because of a severe lack of shops in this town and lack of time to go anywhere with more choice.

binkie · 30/04/2004 17:29

White Stuff is good - surprising as you'd think teenage not er over-forty - bias cut linen for a perfect skim over that tummy bit. Nice non-snooty Aussie shop assistants.

Agree about H&M (even more for kids things).

layla · 30/04/2004 17:35

Noddy,I was disappointed with La Redoutes summer catalogue-I thought the winter one was much better.
Love their bedding though.

Thanks for that Bluesky.
