dd1's school has no cooked lunch and no kitchen

but our village hall is in the grounds (with kitchen)

is it mad to thikn of running a lunch club in the village hall for pupils who would like it?

That sounds like a great idea. Wonder if there are special grants or something you could get to start it up?

i read an article in the paper(in the summer sometime)that 2 schools in a rural location that didn't have school kitchens to prepare food in had agreed a deal with the local pub (who had put a business package together for them)who cooked the meals and then delivered them to the schools.I remember it saying that they were mainly using local ingredients and the children had an input with the menu too.The food was delivered in a special van.
So, i would say good luck with your idea, i hope it works and there must be funding from somewhere for you

With jamie's mission I would say you would def get backing. Sounds ideal that the hall is in the grounds, if they are prepared to buy stuff from pubs I'm sure they would go for your idea too.

Jamie was getting pubs involved too, if you get no joy with the council write to him .
