Would I be mad?

I am currently completing courses for alternative therapy, got a few more to complete and am also a Doula. Due to the area I live in, it is taken time for word to get around.
I have two children, my dh works shifts, and I am also completing the Access to Nursing Course.
On Tuesday afternoons and wednesday mornings I am also completing modules for a HC in combined studies with my local uni.

And, I am thinking of looking for a small part time job.
Am I mad?

jofeb04 · 03/11/2006 20:36

Lol lulumama,
I would only work until the business sets off, as Im also an alternative therapist as well, but in wales, doula-ing as still very new.

possibly- but then I can talk from experience.
While doing my access course, I also worked 30 hrs a week, which meant going into college on my only day off from work- hence having NO day off at all for months. On a thursday I would start work at 1600 hrs ao in the morning would do voluntary work for homestart- also did voluntary work for womensaid for a time.

currently i am doing a nursing degree which is every day at uni, and also working 17.5 hrs a week.

i am struggling, seriously and I think so is my realtionship. If you can avoid having to do it then dont because somewhere down the road- something has to give.

what are you studying access for? Midwifery?

jofeb04 · 03/11/2006 20:40

Thanks for the tiedmama,
Hopefully going to get onto a midwifery degree, or child nursing.
TBH, I am finding it hard enough as it is now, but the extra money would really help us.

jofeb04 · 03/11/2006 20:42

Hiya,
My local uni needs me to have the access course, which I only started in september, completing it two nights a week over two years!

lulumama · 03/11/2006 20:44

will have to look into that then!

gosh....you are going to be busy!

tiredemma · 03/11/2006 20:45

The ONLY reason that I am working is because the Bursary is a pittance- its a joke. I look and feel like shit and its only 6 weeks in!

Lulumama- Most universities now stipulate that you have studied in the past five years.

lulumama · 03/11/2006 20:48

liverpool john moore uni does both degree and diploma- diploma entry criteria would be less than for a degree.
