morningpaper · 02/11/2006 20:09

I'm 5 foot

Who else is pocket sized?

OP posts:
sykes · 02/11/2006 20:32

French Connection, Zara, Mango, Jigsaw for skirts, Top Shop okay too for tops. All but jigsaw do size 6 (only buy skirts there) and I find i only have to take jeans up - usually French Connection. Long skirts usually okay. I'm 5'2. Do have a problem with long sleeves though.

DizzyBint · 02/11/2006 20:34

i'm 5ft 2. i get most things from topshop or topshop petite.

SparklyPete · 02/11/2006 20:35

I'm 5' 2''. Best jeans for me are Anne Brooks petit (from Debenhams).
Have to say, having always gone for Next petit - i'm starting to find the legs in trousers too long in last couple of years. it is me? am i shrinking???

SoupDragon · 02/11/2006 20:39

You're not all "petite" You're SHORT.

tamum · 02/11/2006 20:39

How strangely fascinating, to see all these people I imagined being tall admitting to being short! I am 5'2", but I don't really have problems finding things to fit. I have relatively longer legs and a shorter body though, so I think that helps. And I'm taller than motherinferior, which also helps

foxinsocks · 02/11/2006 20:41

it's funny you say that sparklypete because I used to find all the petite trousers too short for me but in the last year, they have definitely started to fit me perfectly (and I'm 5'6!)

tamum · 02/11/2006 20:41

Bog off Soupy

liath · 02/11/2006 20:42

I'm not SHORT I am gravitationally challenged.

Mercy · 02/11/2006 20:42

I don't really qualify being a towering 5' 2.5" but to the mumsnetter who wanted petite maternity clothes, try reet petite.

I always thought I was about 5' 4" until I was measured by a nurse earlier this year. I think I just look taller because I'm also skinny.

morningpaper · 02/11/2006 20:44

oooh! am v. excited about Monsoon Petite - will have to investigate

5'1, measuring by the length of my left leg - my right leg is nearly an inch shorter, so when I stand without any kind of orthotic support I'm shorter still (and wonky ).

Germany does not have petite ranges . I wear skirts or take up trousers.

foundintranslation · 02/11/2006 21:37

and dh is 5'2

no prizes for guessing what centile ds is on...

JennyLeevesmilkandcookiesforSa · 02/11/2006 21:41

I'm 146 cm apparently thats about 4'9

ABadMouseNibbledMyFireworks · 02/11/2006 21:43

I'm 5'3".

I feel very tall on this thread.

Thank you!

tref It's a pain, isn't it? Fortunately dh and I turned up for our first doc visits with ds together, so it was pretty clear where the shortness was coming from. He's quite light as well, but less drastically so.

aweebitgross · 02/11/2006 21:46

I'm 4ft 10"... not the height of two daisys... wish I were a dandelion!

nikkie · 02/11/2006 21:53

I'm 5ft, I'm not petite though
I know what you mean about the lack of curvy clothes!
I live in jeans and just buy longer one that fit the hips and wreck the bottoms topswise If I find something I like I buy loads of them in different colours.
IME petite ranges are usually too expensive for me and they are also tend to be smart clothes rather than practical!

Can anyone recommend any short tracksuit pants?

moljam · 02/11/2006 21:56

I'm 4ft 10 in with a 27 in inside leg.

I hate it when shops say petite is 5 ft 3in and under. I'm a full 5 in shorter than that and often find even petite doesn't fit right. I just find I have to shop around a lot to find something to fit me. Though I do tend to go for the the 'hippy' deconsctructed look so tha helps.

Has any one else had the helpfull advice "buy childrens clothes!!" Yeah! right do 12 year olds have curves, I think not!!

gingernut · 02/11/2006 23:03

sahmumtotwo, someone said that to me this morning actually (when I was moaning about my fat face stuff)...grrrr!

paddingtonbear1 · 02/11/2006 23:20

I'm only 5ft. Most of my work clothes come from Next, with the odd pair of trousers from Monsoon. Monsoon Petite though? That would be great! Not seen it in my local store yet!

nikkie · 03/11/2006 19:19

I used to buy clothes from New look kids!
That was pre kids though
