he simply "must have these for xmas, as ALL my friends are getting them!" Nike air max ones apparently.

£90 for trainers to be worn climbing trees and skudding about on a bike. i dont think so!!!

because hes a size 6 he has tohave mens which bumps the price up, hes only 12.

ive told him a blank "no" and when hes into just posing in town and not playing out he can have some. well? would you get them?am i being a misery?

Not in a billion years would I buy those. If you don't want to, stick to your decision. He can buy what he wants when he earns £90 for himself.

juuule · 26/10/2006 19:56

Don't forget to add on P&P.

7up · 26/10/2006 20:01

so juule, that would be cheaper orthe same as battymuma could get them, are they the real thing or a cheap copy of them do you think

thb, I doubt I would spend £90 on myself for a pair of trainers, let alone on a child who may outgrow them in a few months.

Good quality leather boots or shoes in a style which would last for years is different. (ie, for an adult)

MissyBabee · 26/10/2006 20:04

er, yeahhhhhhhh

izzybiz · 26/10/2006 20:05

I bought myself a pair at £85 once
If its what he really wants for xmas, then i would, but i would def check ebay first!

3andnomore · 26/10/2006 21:14

NO WAY...my es can't look after shoes at the best of times, so....no way would I spend that much, lol! Wouldn't spend that muhc on shoes for me, tbh!

juuule · 26/10/2006 21:25

Well, I wouldn't like to vouch for the authenticity of the stuff on Ebay, but I do know that my 16yo ds is happy enough with the ones that we got off Ebay and they seem to last okay.

FillyjonkthePumpkinEater · 26/10/2006 21:28

god though price of trainers is

have juat bought me properly fitted womens running shoes. complete revealation and nice not to feel my knees crumbling as I run but

£75

BATtymumma · 26/10/2006 21:32

Those on ebay look OK to me. i think its probably people who are like my sisters freinds, theyget them cheap from abraod and sell them here for a profit.

is there any specific colour that your looking for? i will aks her when she gets back (she's in Madrid at the mo, gets back tomorrow pm)
and let you know what she says

7up · 26/10/2006 21:49

7Up, I think you'll find that most of his mates' parents didn't pay the full RRP either so make Ebay your new best friend And there's no shame in asking the other parents how much they spent and where, everybody likes to boast about a bargain.

Bugsy2 · 27/10/2006 10:27

OMG, what on earth could trainers possibly have in them to make them cost £95? I feel faint at the thought of paying that much for shoes that would be completely trashed in a few months.
Not surprised you said no 7up. I would have done too. Hope you manage to find them alot cheaper on Ebay.

7up · 27/10/2006 10:43

i think i can get them cheaper either of batymuma or ebay thankfully. i mean they are really nice and i understand why he wants them, peer pressure is a terrible thing but no way could i pay that much for them, even if i was rich !
