My friend went to one a coulpe of weeks ago with her DS 6 years. She said it was really good and the kids really enjoyed it, made a change from the party games. They all went away with a T Shirt with a design on it ( which they made of course i.e fabric pens were used).
Excellent idea! BTW the parent did the craft party herself- perhaps you could do this with help from another adult. larsxx

found kidzcraft ( naff name) anyone used these?

lars · 20/04/2004 16:25

No, I haven't use them. There is a company on line called Baker ross supplies schools, fairs, pre schools, etc with craft material. You can order on line delievered to your door in a few days. They are not the cheapest, so you may find craft material cheaper else where, but you can view on line and order a large quantity if required or small .
You could have a few different areas of craft for example making a mask and decorating it. Suggest you do easy things so it makes it easy on you and helpers. Let us know how it goes. larsxx

It's a great idea and makes a change from the wacky warehouse and the usual joints. I'm sure kids and parents would love to go to something a bit different. Same places for parties every week do get a bit boring for kids and the adults. larsxx

There is Artzone near us - they do parties and holiday workshops which the kids usually enjoy. I know of a mum who has recently done one herself. The kids decorated their own party bags and party hats - really enjoyed it.

codswallop, I run ceramic painting parties for kids and adults, the first one I did was for 5 year old boys - I've never been to such a quiet and calm boys party in my life!!

Sorry - missed your question - I am in Northants so probably no use at all.

rsv1000r · 01/05/2004 14:41

I recently had a cooking party for my ds (5 years old) - it was a real hit - I used splat.co.uk who provided the recipies (laminated), chefs hats, rolling pins or cookie cutters, party bags and aprons.

pickledbeetle · 01/05/2004 14:47

Tried splat.co.uk but got no links to progress off 'cover'page. Am I doing something wrong?

rsv1000r · 01/05/2004 14:58

sorry having a senior moment - the web address is splatcooking.com

pickledbeetle · 01/05/2004 15:02

Thanks rsv found it!

carla · 01/05/2004 15:56

Where's your website then, emmagee?

StripyMouse · 01/05/2004 16:01

I am really glad I found this thread. I was wondering what to do for my little girl?s party that would be a bit different and this has inspired me to think about a craft based aprty for them as they love lessing about with glue, paint, glitter etc. I love the T shirt idea and would be great for them all to take away a T shirt. I am sure that it would be fairly easy to run one of these yourself with a few willing adult helpers and not too many children at a time..famous last words!!

StripyMouse · 01/05/2004 16:02

emmagee - just tried your link and seems it isn?t working - thought I aught to let you know.
