Ronnie, not Ronald. I really like it, but not sure if I've got the guts to chose something so unconventional

Wallace · 15/10/2006 21:13

I like it. Met a Reggie recently which I thought was very sweet.

hulababy · 15/10/2006 21:13

It's not my choice, but if you like it, then use it.

Greensleeves · 15/10/2006 21:13

I like it. I think it's sweet and unusual, but not freaky or odd

lulumama · 15/10/2006 21:13

Greensleeves · 15/10/2006 21:13

I know a female adult called Ronnie (Veronica?)

and

a male boy called Ronnie aged about 8 pr 9.

Both suit the name and I think it's quite cool.

Mum2FunkyDude · 15/10/2006 21:19

Not something I would choose, we had a boy named Ronnie at school, he was very scrawny and wore glasses.

Do you have other ideas?

mosschops30 · 15/10/2006 21:19

kittythescarygoblin · 15/10/2006 22:09

I've a feeling all these sorts of names will come back into fashion soon. It depends on how we view them. We are more likely to accept something if we think it's 'fashionable' iyswim

suzycreamcheese · 15/10/2006 22:11

i like it; fil called ronnie; and for every ronnie corbett there is a ronnie barker, and dont forget ronnie o'sullivan.
i'd even go for ronald on the certificate and use the ronnie for everyday. different these days, bold and dignified name!

Spidermama · 15/10/2006 22:12

I like it.

kittythescarygoblin · 15/10/2006 22:12

perhaps you could have a girl and call her Myra

controlfreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaky2 · 15/10/2006 22:14

sorry but yuk.

Tommy · 15/10/2006 22:15

I know a little boy called Ronnie.

Personally I don't like it but I don't think it's that unusal and certainly no-where near as bad as some things you hear yelled in Tesco

kittythescarygoblin · 15/10/2006 22:15

So moaningpaper is the only ronnie you can think of a crim?

OP posts:
moaningpaper · 15/10/2006 22:16

he's the first one that comes to mind

also a programmer that once worked for me who was so small you could carry him in your pocket

Blandmum · 15/10/2006 22:16

Ronnie Regan. Not a positive thought. Sorry
