I wish we had been taught using videos like that.

Much Much better than the simple black & white line drawings that were used in my day.

I can't see Twig's video, just the stills, but proteasomes are cylinders, aren't they, but I've never thought of mitochondria as cylinders.

I pay to use a site, campbellbiology.com. That has all sorts of animations etc. It is so hard to convay biological process which are 3 d and on going with static pictures.

Even something as simple as transpiration in a plant is much easier with an animation....and more fun too.

I do lots of role play as well

To see twigs video select high/low res under teh first paragraph of text. It takes a while to load but it is worth it.

Blandmum · 14/10/2006 17:35

The things shown though are more like grey king Edward potatoes than a cylender though.

Download the video, it takes an age but it is so worth it!

There are lovely illustrations in Bill Earnshaw's Cell biology text book. Very 3D, and I agree, it's loads better than line drawings. Where are you based, 2pumpkin? (don't worry if you don't want to say)

Have you seen the vid yet TaMum?

There are lots of sites to find it like YouTunes - just google "The Inner Life of a Cell".

I will say that I am in industry rather than academia.

Woooooooo!

I couldn't get the ilm to work last night but have just watched it and can only say I wish I still took drugs!!

(I also wish I took my science lessons seriously at school, I was good at it but failed miserabley. I love all this sort of stuff....and MB)
