What Blair's just signed us up for, re European institution? I'm a dimwit, 'fraid I just don't understand.

Apparently he's just "decided" (damage limitation) that there will be a referendum on the European Constitution. This is what the BBC is saying but I'm not sure if they've checked with Alistair Campbell first

Lisa78 · 18/04/2004 22:36

so its official! None of us know really

Davros · 18/04/2004 22:38

So let's all vote No for a laugh

carla · 18/04/2004 22:40

twiglet, it's a referendum on the Euopean constitution. What does THAT mean? Sorry thick to the skin

Apparently what it means is that, rather than just signing us up for the European Constitution, he is actually going to ask us whether we want to or not. Nice of him to think we might have an opinion. Having said that, it does rather depend on the wording of the referendum and whether we all get to see the constitution beforehand. I honestly don't see how you can have a constitution designed to affect 25 different countries with such differing backgrounds and cultures. Parts of it will probably suit us and other parts will probably be totally detrimental to the British way of life.

I'll vote No just because I think!!

Nutcracker · 19/04/2004 12:33

My son is 10 and has never shared a room, but I would say from opinion that after 7 it is prudent to separate them.
I know there is a law, its to do with council housing specifically, might be worth ringing your council

Tortington · 19/04/2004 19:19

in housing its usually 7 for different sexes although all children should have a room of their own after 14 or 15 - though in reality this inst likley.

grumpyzebra · 19/04/2004 19:31

Custy How do you reckon that "all children should have a room of their own" after 14-15 why?
Also.... sort of thought there was something by law that children over 8 must be in single-sex bedrooms.
