Dh has a new mobile on the way. He arranged for it to be delivered on Friday as I'd be at home then. 2.15 I hear something come through the letterbox and went to have a look - it was a 'sorry we missed you' note from Parceline. Well I'm sorry they missed me too - especially as it seems to mean that the unfortunate delivery driver must be either very impatient, very stupid or very short-sighted. Our bell doesn't work so we stuck a label on it saying so and asking anyone who wanted us to knock on the door - loudly! OK...perhaps he did that and I didn't hear but I think that's quite unlikely...but DS#1 was playing in the front room in full view of anyone standing at the door so you'd have thought that the driver would realise that most people don't leave a 3 yr old home alone and that therefore there would be an adult in the house!! Wouldn't you try again...at least once? I rushed out of the front doot but he was already haring down the road in his van

So now I have to stay in all day on Tuesday. Not sure how I'm supposed to get the kids to and from school..... and if I miss the delivery again it will be sent back to the sender. A few years ago this happened and I went to the depot to collect but there doesn't seem to be that option. BUT you can pay between £5 and £10 to ask for delivery on a certain day am or pm! For £10 I'd want it delivered at a specific minute and not a second later or sooner!!

Grrrrr

And then (sorry to carry on the rant but I forgot a material point) Amazon chappie delivered a parcel on Sunday because we'd been out on Saturday so he thought he'd just pop back the next day. What a contrast.

They're always doing this. I caught the guy writing out a "sorry we missed you" note when he hadn't even knocked. We would def know if he had because we have a mad mutt that goes beserk barking (too much aliteration!) if someone so much as sneezes at the front gate.
He said he "assumed" no-one was in because it was during the day and he thought we'd be at work.

I had a gut feeling that had happened Ikiboo. But why bother to try to deliver at all if that's their attitude? Wondering if the redelivery fee colours their judgement about whether people are in or not!
