I sold at one once and wasn't a member. Think there was a contact number though 'cause I had to let someone know I wanted a stall and that person gave helpful instructions. I had to pay a certain amount to NCT and got to keep the rest of the money I made.

I don't think you need to be a member. Certainly we never expect sellers to be.

There are two ways to do it, branches vary. Either you price up your stuff, and hand it over, and get back unsold stuff at the end (if you come pick it up). The branch takes 50% (or so) of the sale price of everything that sells, you get a cheque for the rest. Or you rent a table and price it all as you go - that way you can change the prices through the sale.

Having just put a load of stuff in to a previous sale just to warn you that it may not sell. Things that sell well are anything boxed and in good or new condition and popular items such as baby bjorns. Knitted clothes and most clothing items don't seem to sell at all. However its not really a problem as you just take the stuff back.

Well, you have to price things low, and brands matter, as does condition. I don't bother putting things that aren't a) a good brand and b) in good condition up, and even then, I price low.

You don;t have to be a member to sell but members can get priority notice of the sale so it may be hard for non members to get a space.

Some branches run the sale as a tabletop where you pay a fee for the table and keep the proceeds.

Other branches, the ones with more volunteers run the whole thing. They issue tickets which you use to price up your items, you then deliver them to the venue and they sell everything. You then get a cheque for what has sold, minus a commission (varies branch to branch between about 20-40%)

Thanks for all your help! I saw a sale advertised locally so I'll give them a call!
