Oh MY F'ing GOD

Mornings don't come much worse than ours today.

Vet said that the bill would either be £800 min our £2.5K max! [shock}

Then as we are trying to come to terms with this, DP spies what we were convinced were about 25 maggots on out ceiling in the kitchen!

Can you even begin to imagine.

We were freaking inside but trying to keep it together.

We just about to move out when DP googled 'maggots on ceiling' and turns out we have PANTRY MOTH LARVAE!

Still gross but much happier.

Anyone had this, or heard of it before?

WartWH yes, I'm in Africa! Not deepest (we're in Lagos, Nigeria) but it's certainly bl%dy dark when the power goes out, which it does numerous times a day.

Wow!! did it hurt?

what's it like living in lagos?

Marina · 08/10/2006 20:47

Having laughed at ThomCat's notional gusset infestation I have just swooned at SueDonim's account of live maggot action [bleurgh emoticon].
Hope you are both decontaminated v soon ladies

What do the larvae look like? We have vein weevils as we have a grape vine but dh says they're harmless...is he lying to me? Are these the same thing?

Lol at 'gusset infestations', Marina!!

It hurt in as much as it was like a boil (not that I've ever had one!) thus red and sore to touch but it wasn't sore to reomve the little sucker. It left a big hole which hasn't completely healed yet, plus I seem to have an eczema type rash in the area. But I dare say I'll live.

Living in Lagos veers from boring to aggravating. There's not much to do here, few shops, no theatre/cultural life, though two cinemas have just opened. Plus I can spend hours a day in traffic jams. We also have ongoing crises in our apartment. As I type I've just had to boil a kettle of drinking water to wash dd as we've had no water for most of the weekend and dh has gone to get water from the swimming pool to flush the loos. We regularly have no electricty/gas/TV and for all this dh's compnay pays £24,000 a year rent! Oh, and it never flippin' well stops raining! Might just as well be in Scotland. But it's nice not doing any housework and being driven everywhere, so 'mustn't grumble'.
