OK here's one for all your creative juices. How many kid friendly, educational, entertaining uses can you think of for an empty plastic bottle (with screw top if necesssary). I'll kick off with some easy ones: maracca, skittle, rocket ....

piss pot in the car (for smaller boys only) even up to 10 yrs old...
Only if you have the lid, we always carry one, we always seem to be stuck in traffic jams

a submarine!!

Do you remember when pop bottles used to come with a black pot at the bottom that they stood in? They don't make them like that anymore and it's a shame. We used to make little garden's out of them and the plants would always thrive because it was like a green house.

The last thing I made for my ds1 with a pop bottle was a ghostbusters proton pack. Previously we made a submarine.

insanidee · 12/04/2004 20:12

flip, your showing your age. next you'll start on about the pop man and van that used to come round!

Soulfly · 12/04/2004 20:12

You could make a money box, cut a slit on the side, decorate it somehow, eg. a pig or some sort of animal? just a thought. I'll keep thinking,

Flip · 12/04/2004 20:12

Of course I remember the pop van but I'm only 26. Is that old?

Soulfly · 12/04/2004 20:13

oh, if you had glass bottles, you could fill them to different levels and make tunes with them??

gothicmama · 12/04/2004 20:14

Space rocket if you stick cardbord fins to top adn use bicycle pump I can 't rem, eber last bit may be water - used to do this when we were kids

insanidee · 12/04/2004 20:17

nah, i'm just kidding. could do with a pop man these days, but i'm just lazy (i'm only 24 and have a vague memory of the pop man)

treacletart · 12/04/2004 20:18

oooh these are great... I knew you lot would come up with some gooduns.. I'm cheating a bit allready, but a plastic milk bottle with a handle cut at the right angle makes a good sand scoop....

Apparently they are good to put in your toilet cysterns so you don't use as much water in each flush. Abit of useless advice there, not the topic at all is it? but i couldn't resist telling you, lol.

Soulfly · 12/04/2004 20:21

P.s See i am still thinking , lol.

Flip · 12/04/2004 20:23

We used to use them for water fights in summer. Oh the memories!

kiwisbird · 12/04/2004 20:24

fill them with water put them on your lawn and dogs won't poo on it...

treacletart · 12/04/2004 20:25

I dont think the cistern things at all off beam soulfly! I reckon it would be extremely educational! They're called toilet hippos arent they?

Kiwisbird - Is that true?!

Flip · 12/04/2004 20:27

My dog uses them as chew toys. She goes mad when I squash one. And of course I hope we all recycle them properly!

Soulfly · 12/04/2004 20:29

Yeah i think they are, cause i rang up the water boards for one, but they told me they don't do them anymore and suggested 1 litre water bottles instead.

P.s i am still thinking, but nothing else has come into my mind yet, lol.

Soulfly · 12/04/2004 20:48

use it to keep your old change in??

Soulfly · 12/04/2004 20:50

Get your kids to paint and glue them and make sculptures?

kiwisbird · 12/04/2004 20:54

I have heard it is true treacle, but then I think bottles full of water look worse than dog turds!

kiwisbird · 12/04/2004 20:55

treacletart · 12/04/2004 20:55
