repeated twice tomorrow on ITV2

multitasker · 30/09/2006 21:39

If anyone has TV3 (probably only in Ireland) it is repeated tomorrow morning.
Some fantastic ones in the over 25 category.
Wish I could sing

vitomum · 30/09/2006 21:39

i think it is itv2 tomorrow night aitch. i tend to cry most at the one who think they aren't really worthy enough to get through - and then they do!

you're totally missing the point.

yes yes of course it is a total set up. yes of course some get through on looks, some on talent and some on sob story.

but it doesn't take away from the fact that that woman that has worked in a factory for the last 20 years has had her life transformed by this, or that the woman in the wheelchair won't be only known for being the woman in a wheelchair by the children in her child's school, but as the mum that was on x-factor.

it does change lives.

and i don't mean because winners release albums. i mean because it changes what you think you can achieve and who you think you are for some of these people and that is moving, even if you are a cynical old git like me.

hunkermunker · 30/09/2006 21:42

Lulumama, I watch it! I just don't blub

mosschops30 · 30/09/2006 21:45

true sophable I never looked at it like that, think I was thinking along simon cowells line of 'will it sell' but you're right, lots of these people will get something out of it other than being 'the winner'

aitch71 · 30/09/2006 21:46

sophable, i'm blubbing a little already...

Heathcliffscathy · 30/09/2006 21:54

frankly, the 'winners' end up losing soooo much money for the record companies.

i sort of knew simon cowell once. not very well at all, but to speak to. the man is a total gent.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 30/09/2006 21:55

He is rather shaggable too IMO

OP posts:
mosschops30 · 30/09/2006 21:55

sometimes i think he is a gentleman and very gracious and other times he comes across as a total w**r.

mosschops30 · 30/09/2006 21:56

tamba nooooooo, all that thinking about nicotine withdrawal is messing with your brain

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 30/09/2006 21:57

I love that hes so nasty at times and rather controlling. Hes arragant too and cofident. I find that a turn on.

divamummy · 30/09/2006 22:51

nope im in stoke, never been to bath or holland.
got to go bath, seen lots on tv

Furball · 01/10/2006 08:04

mosschops30 - What about Rick Waller Or Michelle Macmanus?

mumandlovingit · 01/10/2006 08:18

i want the 16 year old to win.is it shaun? would be good to boost his confidence and give him the start to really make something of himself.they're all good though and at this stage its hard to really pick a favourite

LadyTophamHatt · 01/10/2006 08:22

It was FAB, wasn't it?

You're absolutley spot on, sophable. The older lady who works in a factor really didn't expect to go through, did she?....I just love it!!

(and yes, I cried too)

Flamebat · 01/10/2006 11:26

Yay!!! I'm not the only freak I was trying not to cry

Sooo... who is most liked from each section so far?

For me... u/25s - the guy with the really cool afro and the lovely face, closely followed by the really young nervous one

O/25s - Ben (long hair)

Groups - No-one really. I quite like the nice half of brothers. I am so annoyed for 4th Base - It sounded like Westlife moron didn't like their way of doing things so wanted em out. WTF does it matter who stands in the middle??? Thats the kind of advice they are there for!!!

crunchie · 01/10/2006 11:53

mommyandlovingit, You are exactly the reason Simon put such a kid through the torture. He is a lovely KID, but NOT a major recording star!!

Shane was a worthy winner, as was Will Young, but if anyone votes for the lady in the chair or the kid who cannot sing without being parylised with nerves then you are bonkers

This is why I love and hate these shows, I mean STEVE f**ng Brookstein!! WTF

Joolstoo · 01/10/2006 11:55

I agree with you crunchie EXCEPT for Steve Brookstein - I think he's got a cracking voice!

aitch71 · 01/10/2006 21:03

sob

it's just finished on ITV2...

Glassofslime · 01/10/2006 21:05

Have got it on my sky plus and haven't seen yesterdays yet so haven't read the thread, but wanted to say I cry every week. I always find myself thinking of the contestants being one of my children and then thats me off.
