I am quitting smoking on Monday. Am telling you all so that it will make me more determined not to fail

Cause I am so not coming on here to say that ive failed!! That would be awful!

So, on Monday morning I will be a non-smoker.

I have quit before. Once for over 2 years and once for 18 months. I smoke about 20 a day at the moment.

Ive really made my mind up. Mt friend bought me 200 fags last week and I gave most of them away so I wouldnt have any left that I had to smoke. Also resisted buying 200 yesterday for only 18 pound! (very good of me, normally cant resist a bargin!!)

I have no big plan or method, am just going to stop.

Am only taking the exact money I need out with me so am not tempted to buy fags!

I take it last night was a tad...erm....'difficult'?! Bit of a pain barrier to break through.

My DH is a 'social' smoker. Had a mate around on Sunday who smokes and he couldn't resist nicking off up the garden 'to show our mate the plants' (!!!!!!?)

It really annoys me when he ponces them off other people - in fact it annoys me as much as him wanting to smoke in the first place, so the poor bugger can't win

Have you told your friends/family you're giving up? The reason I ask is that temptation of going out for a fag with your 'usual' crowd - do you think you'll be able to say no, and will the 'accept' no from you without loads of pressure?

You have to rememebr that you WANT to stop smoking. And by having a fag...your just going to continue smoking...defeating the objective. Not smoking is THE ONLY way to do this.
And if you di have a fag you would kick yourself and only have to go through this whole thing all over again at some point.

Well the person I spend most time with has also quit and so has my other friend. (Umm that will be all of my friends then ) My family dont smoke and I dont really go to pubs and stuff so dont have to worry about that. Havent told anyone other than my 2 friends that im quitting cause my family dont know I smoke in the first place! My mother would not be impressed! How pathetic is that lol

My DH never told his family either. They were horrified when they caught him!

Sounds like you won't encounter too much temptation then. It's booze and mates who smoke, for my DH.

Hopefully you and your friends will be able to keep each other going.
