don't know anything about calms sorry

I use Bach Rescue remedy, I find it very helpful

Donbean · 27/09/2006 12:21

Is that from a health food shop or boots or somewhere like that?

Are you talking generally Donbean? Or is there a specific event coming up for which you need to be calm?

Donbean · 27/09/2006 12:22

yes. job interview. Just even thinking about it is making me feel sick and shaky

you can get it in any chemist as far as I remember

It's a tiny little bottle with a dropper and you put a few drops on your tongue, tastes a little alchoholic but it works well for me
it's in a yellow box
I think you can also get it in a small spray that you do the same with

trinityrhino · 27/09/2006 12:23

I found it very helpful when I couldn't stop shaking and panicking before my driving test

Donbean · 27/09/2006 12:24

sounds like what i need, what has it got in it?

I don't know if the doctors let you have them these days buy once I was given beta blockers for a job interview. They're supposed to keep your heart rate down without affecting your performance. There was a scandal in the 80s when it was discovered that certain snooker players were taking them for tournaments.

I have to say they were absolutely brilliant... I felt calm and in control and I got the job.

Good luck with the interview. Don't drink coffee if you're prone to nerves as it can send one a bit jittery. I also had chamomile tea before another interview and it calmed me down.

trinityrhino · 27/09/2006 12:29

just tried to go and find mine but I can't

It's natural, like flower essence and things
sorry not much help

bundle · 27/09/2006 12:40

donbean, I met a GP from the Midlands who "prescribed" it for his mildly depressed/anxious patients (health & safety alert: do this in the back garden, wear goggles/close your eyes and make sure the neighbours are out..)

CountessDracula · 27/09/2006 12:43

I could send you some valium, dh gets them prescribed for his bad back

Molesworth · 27/09/2006 12:44

Beta blockers are brilliant, but obv only available on prescription

I'd try Kalms and Rescue Remedy - experiment with the Kalms well before the interview though, as when my mum tried them she felt stoned

LieselVonTrapp · 27/09/2006 12:54

Dare I say it, Bachs Rescue Remedy works wonders.

bubblerock · 27/09/2006 13:10

Just found my spray

Bach rescue remedy - 5X dilution of flower extracts of rock rose, impatiens, clematis, star of bethlehem, cherry plum in a grape alcohol solution. Free from artificial additives and uitable for vegans.

trinityrhino · 27/09/2006 15:17

Donbean · 27/09/2006 20:47

Donbean · 28/09/2006 14:54

bachs rescue.....nothing, not doing a thing,,need more suggestions and soon please....

OP posts:
Molesworth · 28/09/2006 16:17

I think if you are feeling very very anxious then that justifies a trip to the GP tbh. He/she may prescribe a couple of valium tabs for you (they do this for anxious flyers so why not anxious interviewees?).

Donbean · 28/09/2006 16:20

im considering that very option and im going to the Drs in the morning....i cant think of any other way, i know that i will be in a state.
