THe woman who played the alien in Dr WHo is called Annette Badlands, she turns up in loads of things, a proper character actress. I think she would be great for Umbridge too. She was also recently in that cheesy hairdressers 'drama' (cutting it?) as the main female characters, (Sarah Parish) horrific mother. Ahem, clearly have too much time on my hands to know all this.

alexsmum · 26/09/2006 19:54

just googled her-YES!!!!!she would be perfect!!!!!!!!!! i think the casting has been really dodgy really. i could do a much better job!

I was just wondering today if, since they started filming the books, JK Rowling has the how the actors look in her mind now, rather than how she may have originally imagined them looking like? Although she always had Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid of course! Still think Daniel Radcliffe is a bit wooden, although he does get better with every film....

Rosylily · 26/09/2006 20:13

Dawn French definately too pretty, Dr who woman would've been perfect I agree. Mythumbelinas Wow can I have your autograph! I just reread the last book so I am all freshly fired up with my enthusiasm, can't wait for the next book! The movie will keep me going in the meantime!

Blandmum · 26/09/2006 20:23

dh sugested Cathy Bates and I agree with him that she would befantastic

nikkie · 26/09/2006 20:44

Yes I'd thought of the Dr Who woman too though I do like Imelda Staunton I don't think she is seen as nasty enough characters?IYSWIM?

Peggotty · 26/09/2006 20:50

Is Cathy Bates the 'Misery' woman, or am I thinking of someone else? Does anyone else think Michael Gambon isn't really that convincing as Dumbledore? I think he's too serious, in the books Dumbledore's got more of a sense of humour.

Since you are all fans, forgive me if i get names wrong.
We sort of get to mingle with the real actors and doubles, there were 2 sets of doubles for every character! So at lunch time i was seeing 3 sets of the twins, 3 rons, 3 hermione .. didn't meet the real HP, but Emma Watson was so sweet.
She came to sit one our table for lunch one day and i didn't even know if she was the real one or not, but she was, then she followed us to the games room.
I actually did a real scene with the actors when CC was called away for something else. I was in the room of requirements with all the main characters, where we were killing a spirit or something, saying 'expelliamus' and i got to hold the real wand. You won't see me of course, unless it's blurred

I didn't apply for this sort of thing. I went to an open casting for something i heard of, but didn't get a callback. Then i received a letter to join the agency, but i didn't .. a few months later i just got this sudden call for this .. (and after a quick call round to my mum and sis if they could babysit dd2 and take dd1 to school) i said yes, then turned up at the studio the next day!
It was very exciting, i couldn't believe it

fubsy · 28/09/2006 23:49

re Nikkie's link - why is Draco Malfoy wearing a skirt? (3rd from right)

aitch71 · 28/09/2006 23:59

ghosty · 28/09/2006 23:59

That's not Malfoy - that's Dubledore's Army ....

Love the pics ... Umbridge is far to nice looking though.
