Is there anything more soul destroying in the world than having your thread unanswered?

Don't you feel really rejected? Like you're trying to speak to people and everyone turns their backs!!

On the positive, though. Creating a thread that runs to the hundreds must be really satisfying! haven't achieved that yet.

I try to trawl through the "unanswered threads" link occasionally

NotQuiteCockney · 17/09/2006 11:24

There's an "unanswered threads" link up there, you can help prevent this problem!

scotchick · 17/09/2006 11:25

That is so kind soupdragon! I may have some there!

Finally getting in the shower after a hard day's drudgery and after the rest of the family have bathed and finding there is no effing hot water is pretty sould destroying, since you ask

FillyjonktheBananaEater · 17/09/2006 11:25

Well I have created some suprisingly long threads all by myself. Thats always an option. And you get the satisfaction of knowing that its all your own work.

emily05 · 17/09/2006 11:25

there are so many threads on mumsnet and it works at such a quick pace I am not offended when my threads get unanswered. Just bump the thread up to remind people!!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 17/09/2006 11:26

I don't see it as a popularity contest. It's upsetting if noone answers and you wanted specific advice.

I've seen threads run on to many pages on another baord and the first poster usually works quite hard at it, following the thread, answering everyone's points, throwing in a controversial p.o.v. here and there etc. Or if there's a big bust-up.

Having a black hair pointed out on your chin is quite sould destroying.

scotchick · 17/09/2006 11:29

you've convinced me.

Also, good tip re answering your own thread to avoid being relegated to 'unanswered threads'!!!!!!

This was all tongue in cheek by the way, only joking really!

I had one unanswered for a wee while, was feeling down had no af and tests confirmed i wasn't pregnant and I just wanted someone to say it was ok and not to worry, now i know every single thread is not going to get answered on here and it took a day or so I think for an reply to come through. I think its just the way it goes sometimes and if i'm honest I didn't feel rejected, If I had wanted more responses I should have bumped it
