This is a long story but i shall try and shorten it. I have 3 small children, one of which is asd and behavioural problems. My neighbour complained to SS recently about the shouting and crying coming from my house. Wewerent investigated as we are already in touch with a SW and the HV who say there are no problems and she is being a little over the top considering this is a household with 3 children. Whilst the SW was here there was really loud music coming from said neighbour which woke up my lo from her nap. The SW said it was unacceptable so I reported it. Neighbour been to my door this morning shouting the odds about my lo with asd and his noise. I wanted to explain about his disability but she has threatened me with an asbo of which I am clueless about. What can she do? What can I do to cover myself and why is she such a cow?

Hiya

BIBIC have loads of info on this as they are running a campaign about kids with SN whoa re threatened / issued with ASBO's. Their website is www.bibic.org.uk, It's best to telphone htem and they can send you info etc, and maybe a pack to pop through your neighbour's door..

Hi how anoying for you.
You can report the noise from the music to the environment agency and keep a log of the incidents to help build a case against your neighbour if needed, if it's bad enough they can fine them or if they are in a council property they can be evicted.
To instil an asbo she would have to apply to civil court so you would get to explain things then and show your log saying that half the time it's cause she wakes the kids up! they won't just give you one without hearing all the facts.

Er...she is not in a position to threaten you with an asbo. She can certainly complain. Im guessing though, that if she had - you would have had a visit by now.

Make a further complaint about her behaviour this morning - it all adds to your case for getting an order placed on her.....

Thanks guys, I am feeling really threatened by her. Her son stands in front of my house staring in at times.

you could call the police when her son is staring in and have them for harrasment especially if you are feeling thretened(sp?) in your own home.

It's a private house. They were talking about moving a while ago so I hope they do. I have enough on plate without them on top.
