Flies in House - HELP

Hi I wonder if any of you can share any wisdom. I have millions (slight exageration) of flies in my house. I have a dog and my back door is always open for her to run in and out. Does anyone have any ideas of how to get rid of the flies and keep them away. They are driving me nuts and the fact that they are in the kitchen makes me cringe. Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance

get a fly screen for the door which allows dog to come and go but no flies. Bettaware/bq have them

You just have to shut the door, especially in the afternoons. You could always get one of those stringy dangly curtainy things.

have you got any fruit that is attracting them?

I didnt know you could get ones that have doggy doors in them. Are flies a common problem just now? I have recently had my garden redone and I was becoming concerned that they had used something in the garden that was attracting flies.

get some fly tape which is not poisonous. recently had food flies because Dh opened our compost bin in the kitchen, after just one day & night of the tapes hanging over the sink and light souce, they've gone!!! they were cheap as well. basically flies are attracted to them because its like honey and then get stuck and DIE!!

Hi, there is a fruit bowl sits behind the kitchen door on the bunker. Might try the fly paper. Had some spray but again with it being in the kitchen I wasnt keen. I am such a one for having fresh air in the house I love having the back door open tbh I have it open more for me than for the dog. Might try the fly paper (am assuming B&Q is the place to go) and if that doesnt work then will try the net. Thanks

Just watched Kim and Aggie tonight
Find a jar add vinigar (not white pref cider vinigar) add a couple of drops of washing up liquid, put cling film on top pirce a few holes and leave.
Apparentley it attracts them and they go in there and drown
Going to try this myself

We normaly get loads of little flys and midges at night when the windows are open and the light attracts them but if you have loads of big black flys then have a look around to see if they are hatching anywhere.

In my last place you got the occasional fly but one day there was loads, traced it to a bag of rubbish I had chucked in to the porch and forgotten about. The flys had laid eggs in the festering rubbish... nice!!! .
