Nationwide Advice Bureau: Scam?

For several months awhile back we were plagued by nuisance calls from people with Asian accents who claimed to know that someone at our phone number had had a car accident in the last two years. Now, it seems someone is taking a more professional approach. I just got a computerized call from a machine speaking in a female voice with a cheery, American accent saying that it was phoning from the Nationwide Advice Bureau and claiming to have the same information about my accident history. In the past I used to point out to the human beings that I don't have a car in which to have been involved in this phantom accident. This time I just told the machine to f* off and hung up. Just wanted to alert others to this more professional-sounding approach. I have read about phishing scams of this kind and also equally dodgy "businesses" that just try to get you to make fraudulent insurance claims and take a fee or something. It must be a scam or something like that, right?

I too have been telephoned by 'Nationwide Advice Bureau' advising me that I have been involved in a 'no fault' car accident in the past 2 years and I might be due additional compensation
They give their address as in Wallingford and the clearly Asian caller said he lived and worked in Walligford?
They are going to send out additional paperwork to my home address
Interesting to see what it says

Yes, keep us posted here! I'm so curious what the story is with these things.

I have just had Asian lady call me,she just wanted to check my details, told her there's not been an accident, she said maybe someone else at your address has had an accident if I wanted to give their details. Hmmmmmmmmm I think not!
Asked her again what company she was from and told her I would check company details.
She asked why I needed to do that if there was no accident,I told her I did not believe she was calling from a genuine company and thought this was a scam.
