The Usbourne Books Ballet book is lovely. As well as talking about what happens in ballet classes it also tells simplified stories of the classic ballets like Swan Lake, The Firebird, The Nutcracker, my 3.5 year old daughter loves it and she doesn't even do ballet - yet!

handbag friends is just odd.

I'll second angelina invitation to the ballet. my girly 4 year olds favourite book and it comes with a necklace.

If on a budget Asda do some cute books with necklaces on them, ballet, horse riding, cinderella etc

dd has "I want to be Angelina Ballerina" which comes with a mini tutu, crown, glitter, stickers, a wand, invitations and tickets. Oh and a little book of ballet steps. She LOVES it!

Felicity Wishes are lovely and you can get them with lots of little things inside.
Dd reads hers inside out.

Not girly as such but my 4yo girly DD is currently loving The Enchanted Wood and The Magic Faraway Tree. She also enjoys My Naughty Little Sister, Naughty Amelia Jane, Milly Molly Mandy, Flat Stanley and various Enid Blyton short stories.

My 3 and 5 year old are really enjoying chapter books meant for 7-9 year olds. I would recommend the Worst Witch series.
