I have sold two shirts on ebay, one an expensive Ralph Lauren and another cheaper but still good shirt, I listed measurements, accurately, (I'm a garment technologist so I know what I'm doing!).
My buyer received the items in good time but tells me that the cheaper shirt is too small, her measurements differ to mine and wants a refund.
What should I tell her?
Looking at her feedback she buys and sells clothes.
What would you do?

she's trying it on,

ask her to return the item and you will refund the cost of the item but not any postage or packing costs

She wants to keep the expensive shirt but wants a refund for the cheaper one! She paid £11 for both shirts. What amount could I offer?
I was thinking only about £4 but by the time she has paid posatge what's the point?
I'm not sure if I'm obligated to refund anything as I've specified measurements.

Ah you sold them as a job lot that makes it difficult to give a refund as she is bound to complain.

The general legal rule is caveat emptor - buyer beware. So you have no legal reason to give her a refund as long as you correctly set out details of the items.

I don't believe that because she bought through ebay she has any greater rights. You often see at the bottom of listings - I do not accept returns unless the item is not correctly described.

But of course you want to protect your feedback. I would suggest that if she pays for fees and postage you will refund her the £11 and she can return both the shirts ,as it is impossible to give a value to each shirt.

i'd echo kaz if she wants a refund its for both or nothing at all
