If DH pays £25 for a costco card will we save that much by shopping there?

We use nappies (pampers), wipes, and would buy tinned food, toilet rolls. What else is a good buy, and is it worth doing?

Costco is not like Makro (in that Makros tends to stock cheaper brands in bulk). Costco tends to stock just a few better brands. Nappies & wipes, loo rolls would be good - tinned food probably not. Books & CDs are good & they usually have good toys at Xmas. Clothes - not my style (no kids stuff usually). House stuff is nice but top price range

I am in usa so it may be different but I was able to go to costco as a guest and do a shop before I decided to join.
It works quite well for us but I have friends who def spend more than they would usually on al lthe cheap stuff.

we went alst weekend and bought
loo rolls
tins of tomatoes
tea bags
batteruies
tins of tuna
apple juice - big ones and litle ones
persil liquid
dettox spray
brill coat for DS
swing bin liners

spent £95, ran it through tesco.com when we got home and minus the coat it would have been £155. we do this kind of shop every 3-4 months

worth it imo

we tend to buy stuff like dishwasher tablets, fabric conditioner, washingpowder, pepsi for dh little bits and pieces that are on offer.

We use it for toilet rolls, washing powder, cat food etc and used to buy all nappies there. We certainly find it's worth the membership fee- they're also very good for presents.

It is eclectic, in that it has fab bargains, but could be anything, and aren't stocked regularly, but have had some great bargains, they do good outside play equipment, and the meat is fab..

It costs us a fortune, cos we impulse buy all sorts!!!

you can save a lot on TVs, fridges, hoovers, kettles, irons etc.

nappies, tiolet roll, kitchen roll. baby wipes, meat, cat food, booze all good value.

Glasses. I got a pair of lovely designer glasses for about £80, including lenses. Also cheap for contact lense solution and double packs of good toiletries, eg eliz arden moisturiser.

apparently bulk buying meat and freezing in portions is worth it - never tried though.

when i had access to a card we bought nappies mostly but always checked out offers. found it a good place to get "unusual but useful" presents.

theres definately a american style to products and the store but not like asda and its walmart style.

if you do go recommend the large tub of jelly beans for a tenner.

We used to go there about once every 2 or 3 months when we lived nearer Leeds. Its wonderful for xmas pressies. And the trays of chocolate muffins freeze very well. Good buys used to be cheese (freeze it), fruit juices, tins of tomatoes, peanut butter, mayonnaise, marmalade, jam and HUGE tubs of marmite. The lager and beer are good too if you have to entertain, say over xmas or something.

Am feeling nostalgic for Costco now . Oh, i remember getting tyres there too at a reasonable price.
