... things might go wrong after all?

OP posts:

Very much so.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 28/08/2006 18:13

ooh yes

Thomcat · 28/08/2006 18:13

Yes, very much. I virtually throw myself on D to cover his mouth with my hand if he goes to say something and say 'no, no, fate is always listening', and it is.

Twiglett · 28/08/2006 18:15

no .. I'm a gobby-gabby who tells everybody everything

ilovecaboose · 28/08/2006 18:15

Yes. You can guareentee if my dad says something like 'ds is being good today' or 'the traffic is good we'll be home in an hour', then the opposite will immediately happen. So I don't like anyone doing it.

KBear · 28/08/2006 18:16

Yes, I once told my mum that I was so happy and life was great then DH got hit by car and our life changed forever. I keep schtum now!

Flossam · 28/08/2006 18:20

Its like saying at work 'Oh isn't it quiet?'. If you ever hear a nurse say that in the vicinity I suggest you run for your life, cause the chances are dramatically increased that your going to get very sick or life is nearly over!!

Thomcat · 28/08/2006 18:22

Like when in a supermarket someone says 'is she a good baby?' and you say 'ohhh yes, so good' and she suddenly claws your face and screams!

Or when you say 'I never get sick' and the next day you are struck down with the worlds worst flu.

Fate is always listening.

Furball · 28/08/2006 18:28

I am too. Not serious a serious tale like Kbears but My dad was once talking hyertheically about the telly screen breaking down but still with sound. I said surely that would never happen, if you've no picture then there probably wouldn't be any sound either. I went home turned the telly on and yep - you've guessed it we had sound but no picture!

Pollyanna · 28/08/2006 18:30

I do too. Never say that dd3 (or any of my other children) have started to sleep through the night as they will inevitably wake up from then. Also, I don't let dh use as an excuse for getting out of something the reason that the children are sick if they aren't because I don't want to tempt fate.

mrsdarcy · 28/08/2006 19:23

When I was expecting DD if anyone said "Mrs Darcy is going to have another baby" I would correct them with "no, I've had a positive pregnancy test" or "a week ago there was a heartbeat". Too scared to count my chickens.

Although it would have been awfully wierd if she had been a chicken
