Just heard about this thing for under 18m olds called "Oogly Boogly". Basically, you put 8 children into this big, inflatable space with no toys and strict instuctions to let them so what they want (within reason I'm sure!). There are dancers/actors that move amongst them and mirror the actions & movements of the children and after a while, the children realise this and a kind of improvised dance, fun-fest ensues where the children get worked up into a joyus frenzy. Parents/carers just sit around the outside and watch. It sound fantasitc. \www.ooglyboogly.org.uk/main.htm{url\Here's the website}. Has anyone been?

Hmmmm. You wouldn't work for them, or anything, would you?

sounds terrifying

was just thinking same as Nao !!

No, that's so cynical Satine!!!

Heard about it on radio 4 and they painted a wonderful picture of it. Was thinking about going to their next UK venue, so wondered if any mumsnetters had been. Was thinking about trying to get my Surestart to get them as they have been to other Surestarts according to their website.

never heard of them but agree...i think it wold be quite frightening for a young baby.

but then again, anything that allows us mums to sit back with a cuppa whilst someone else entertains the kids can't be all that bad!

i've looked at the website and think it looks fantastic....can only imagine how delighted ds would have been at that age to have been leading adults....and the parents are in the tent with everyone.

only sorry he is too old for this now.

Good point fattiemumma

It's inflatable so it wont hurt if they fall over. No sharp edges. And no toys to steal off each other/break/throw/eat etc.

The people who made this, also made Luminaire (not sure about spelling actually )

basically an inflatable on a much larger scale then the oogly boogly thing. It was illuminated and you could explore lots of different chambers and rooms inside. Very surreal experience and my children loved it (although stayed close by!)

The photo's look amazing, in particular the pictures of the performers interacting with the children. I like the idea of child-led play and exploration

thankyou for sharing this, can't see any venues near me in Wilts though
