Mumsnetter of the Year Award

Happy Mother's Day Mumsnetters! Have just seen that Ulrika Jonsson has been named Mum of the Year by Quality Street. Shouldn't we have an award of our own. Who would get your vote? I vote for Bunglie - see In The News thread.

Seriously though, we had trouble once before with a jokey 'Mumsnet Head Girl' thread and that was just a joke so I don't think something more "serious" would go down very well. But if you change your mind, vote for Me! Me! Me!

Not that I've done anything to deserve it other than poke my nse into pretty much every thread...

Well that's my only good idea shot down. Back to lurking! I just thought that it would be nice to nominate a Mum who has overcome adversity. Obviously I'm just too unselfish. >

Absolutely FF - I totally agree. Being a Mum is an award in itself. It's just that it has been very tough for some Mums.

Have just had a look at the link ks. Head Girl to me brings back unpleasant memories of school. I just wanted our "Ulrika". Maybe I should have stated the rules first (ie. you cannot vote for yourself!). Me thinks Quality Street know how to run it.

This will probably sound like a really pathetic idea but if everyone thinks that MN'ers should get awards, why not go through each MN'er one at a time and collectively decide on an award for them (ie Funniest MN'er, MN'er who should be allowed to marry Orlando Bloom, MN'er who should be Prime Minister etc etc)

I know this is lame and would take ages but it might keep us amused for weeks!
