Is a D fitting baby foot really that unusual?

after hassle with dd2 having G/H fitting feet, and never getting a choice of shoes with her, we are finding the same thing now for dd3. she actually measures as an E/F, but the shoes slip off her. the shoe fitter tried loads of shoes, and we eventually found a start-rite pair i na D fitting that fitted perfectly. wouldnt have been my choice in shoes, but seeing as there wasnt any choice, we're stuck.

Hiya misdee
dd gets piedro boots as she is to narrow for high street shoes
but some continetal brands like elefanten have some excellent velcro mary jane style we have had dd's for over a year (slow growing feet)
What size foot is your dd?

misdee · 21/08/2006 20:52

she is 4.

nearest elefanten is in milton keynes i think.

dd is a D and has always been narrow , we've had Elefanten, Ricosta, Superfit etc in the past etc but now Startrite seem to do her best. Elefanten were taken over recently and are not as good as they once were.

I've got a gorgeous pair of patent red elefanten boots, only worn inside as dd only started walking outside a couple of months ago
They are gorgeous boots
Or a pair of new size 5 doodles, which ta da are too narrow for dd!
if you want them you can have them!

All my kids have big/wide fitting feet - dd1 has size 13G (she's 6) and has a real problem as she has very very narrow heels, so by the time they fit at the front they are falling off at the back. We went to a very good idependent shoe shop and got her fitted - she actually gets on best in clarks, which I know many people dont like, with 2 insoles and a heel grip in one of the shoes.
Ds is 4 and has size 11H, and dd2 is 2 and has size 7F.
But then my feet are off the scale widthwise and I've been a size 10 since I was 16 (wear the boxes not the shoes sort of feet) so I suppose they must be taking after me. I have bigger feet than my husband!

Harrisey - thats exactly the same problem I have with my feet - wide at the front with very narrow heels. I spent years as a kid only being able to wear boots cos even the heel grips didn't work well enough.

Ds seems to have inherited it, but is alright in some clarks shoes at the moment - doesn't seem to be as drastic a difference as in mine.

Definately a pain.

my dd (17 months) is a 5 H, and when she was measured in clarks they said that even the H fitting is not really ideally wide enough! and she has a high instep so we were advised to get her t bar style shoes, i can never find any that i like, i hate buying her shoes!

My ds was a d fitting for a while (at around age 2-3) and it was a nightmare getting shoes! We ended up having to order startrite ones. Luckily he has grown out as well as up and is now and E-F so we now have more choice! (I was a C fitting as a child so can't really expect anything else!)
