I posted a while ago about the fact that I was movig to Glasgow and possibly to the southside!
Well, I am ow very happily settled in Crossmyloof and wanted to say a HUGE thankyou for all the help and advice you southsiders gave me in choosing to live here. We have, for us most importatly. a church, but also swimming classes, info about other things going on, somewhere to shop (!!!tesco at Pollok - for a mummy from the hebrides, a total revelation!!!), and so much else - within walking distance of that fabby new playground in Pollok Park, we found some great wee shops in Shawlands!
Thanks ladies, I love it already. I cant get to the Scotland meet up (or is it past- have been moving for a few weeks so a bit out of mn touch with stuff - suppose it is over as dd starts school Monday) - but I wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate all the help you gave me in choosing to live here and if you want to CAT me - hey, lets have coffee and you can give me some more tips!!!!

Thanks girls, it has meant a lot as we settled in!

Hope I haven't given too much away!

experience while you weren't on line (says I diplomatically ) must be really interesting.

Aimsmum- yes, dd1 is in p2 at the Gaelic school and ds in the nursery.
Its fab, very modern, all new and shiny, and she loves it. Ds is soooooo happy in the nursery as they have ride on tractors! (country bumpkin that he is).
Seems to be going well so far though she has had to get used to being ina big class rather than the teeny one she was in before. But she's having fun!

Do't know waht happened there: meant say,

"Hope I - and you - make it to the next meet-up - your experience while you weren't on line (says I diplomatically ) must be really interesting."

But I don't stay far from you (Pollokshields) so we may meet up before then!

harrisey · 28/08/2006 14:54

pb - just sent you a cat message with my email so we may well meet up!

If it doesn't come in today, then it'll be Wednesday before I get it, as I'm down in London tomorrow.

And on that note, I really must get on with some proper work!

Ok ladies - another question! Swimming pools? We went to Bellahouston Leisure centre today as it is closest. It was ok, but the changinfg rooms were disgustingly dirty. Just wondered if anyonne had a better recommendation, esp southside/Paisley?

Plain swimming pool or fun pool?

harrisey · 04/09/2006 17:55

doesnt really matter, my kids are little enough to just like jumping in. The older 2 go to swimming lessons in the local high school pool, but its not open except for the lessons.
We do like a fun pool sometimes though.

Hi Harrisey,

I run music classes on the Southside for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. You can check out our site at www.rhythmtime.net and contact me through that site if you are interested. They really are great fun. My kids loved them

Also, there is a group called Zippitots which a lot of my mums go to.

Harrisey - both Bellahouston and Gorbals (which isn't too far from you eeither) are a bit hit and miss re the changing rooms. I tend to find as along as you go early (ie mid morning rather than mid afternoon), they're not too bad.

The Gorbals also had a Duckling swimming class for the under 5s (and babies - but you're beyound that) - but the 3-5 class is on a SUnday at 10, so might not be sutiable for you. (The babies' one is at 9)
