I'm useless at putting music into categories!

  1. Reggae - can only think of Bob Marley as my mum has a record!

  2. Fun - I guess things that you can dance along to like cha cha slide, the macarena, the conga (although these could probably also go under embarassing!!) I wouldn't really listen to these things at home but at a party they can be quite entertaining!

  3. Embarassing - YMCA & possibly the ones you can dance to mentioned above.

  4. Dance - ooohh this is my favourite genre. Things like Robert Miles - Children, Storm - Time to Burn, Darude - Sandstorm, Aaron Smith ft Luvli - dancin, mauro picotto - lizard, Hi-Tech - say say say, most of the things on Gatecrasher classics 2 compilation, things on older ministry of sound clubbers guide to .... and annuals (I'll shut up now as I could list masses & masses!)

  5. Raucous - can't think of anything

  6. Chill out - don't really like chill out

I'm 22.

I think so long as you mix the different genres up & play a little of everything then people can't really complain.

The Goldfingers covers is quite accessible - recognisbale songs stuff by Police an dElvis Costello and Cure...

I must admit that if OH & I have a party then the music will be predominantly dance as I think about 70% of our cds are dance/trance/hard dance/old school dance! This is not really a good thing as most of our friends don't like it that much!

My collection is very random but quite a lot of the non dance stuff isn't what I'd consider to be party music!

What about children's parties? What do you play at these?

Dance - too many to mention...

Raucous - transvision vamp, 4 non blondes, I predict a riot, the jam

Chill out - fairground attraction, beautiful south, bon jovi, rem, travis, u2, simple minds, aerosmith...
