In my ignorance to healthcare establishment procedures I have NO IDEA what the Health and Safety ishoos are regarding TIGHTS!!!!!

Someone please explain what is so terrible about NOT wearing them with a skirt? And what H & S issues that might raise.....

Well, I wear holdups rather than sussies lol so no chance of pinging someones eye out. Well, not literally anyway

You should have a uniform policy on your local intranet so have a look at that, hopefuly it will tell you the justification for wearing tights. As your uniform is a dark skirt, who is going to know that your wearing sussies and not tights?? I would if I could but with my see through uniform and tree trunks, it really wouldn't be a pleasant sight!!lol!!

I'd love to wear a buckle and really missed recieving one on my graduation but it hasn't been worn since the early 80's in my area of nursing

I can't wear tights myself because they don't let me breath and I get thrush if I wear them.
I remember my mother had to go to meet the president at the white house some years ago and it was the middle of the summer and she said that she didn't care what was considered appropriate wear, there was no way she was wearing stockings in that weather....and she didn't.

Yep I used to work in healthcare had to wear a dress with sheer black tights, seems silly as tights in hot weather make us sweat and dusty, So yeah would be more sensible for us ladies to be allowed bare legs.
