Explain it better. The endowment is worth 7k now but will leave a shortfall on the mortgage of 7k and he is staking a payout which he might or might not get on paying it off. Is that right?

From what I have been reading lateley, this is the wrong time to cash in an endowment. A lot of people are getting worried that they aren't going to meet their targets so they are cashing them in. But most are linked to the stock market and that has been on a downward spiral for the last few years, it is now on the rise. My mother recently asked for a cash in value for her endowment and within a month the value had changed by four hundred pounds. So I'd hang onto it for now if he doesn't need the money. Can't she just hide all the papers or something. That's what I'd do!
