MP3 question from inept technophobe

Well not quite technophobe but inept anyway.

I have a little MP3 player (ie it doesn't store very much, but wanted to get a cheaper version before splashing out on something more expensive).

I have downloaded some music (legally, I paid for it ) and would like to put it on the MP3 player. But although I can upload it onto the MP3 player, it won't play.

The instructions say that this is what happens when the tracks are protected, and looking at them, they are. Is there any way to unprotect them? Or will I only be able to upload things from CDs?

What make is it? If you have paid for downloading then effectively they should play as the point of stopping illegal downloading is that you aren't paying for the licence to play it. (I use a non-paying download site and you have to agree not to play the tracks)

What's the mp3 make and the download site?

The mp3 make is alba and the website was tesco.com.

Hmmm seems a bit strange! The tracks should be playable because you have paid for the licence... I'd get onto tesco and ask them why they won't work. There are always sites like this which may help....
