Parenting magazines, where have all the good ones gone?

As a magazine addict I'm really disappointed by the parenting magazines on offer. I don't want to read the pregnancy ones since I'm not pregnant and I find Junior a bit, not sure what the word is, unrealistic? Vogue for kids-ish.

Anyone remember M magazine? That was a good parenting magazine, full of good advice and realistic articles. And Wipe magazine was only around for a few issues a couple of years ago, but at least it was a down to earth publication. Anyone found a good one that I've missed?

Jbr, you may not be able to see why women want anything different from a mans magazine other than health articles but to be frank if that was all I was looking for I'd go to a medical encyclopedia not Loaded or FM!! Surely, women's magazines serve many purposes beyond factual(?).

Ignore my last post recommending Family magazine - apparently it's not being re-issued! Typical!!

Willow2, is that the one published by WH Smith? If so that is a shame, I thought there was some good stuff in it.

I have to admit I like reading men's magazines such as FHM. I like the humour in them. Shame about the half naked bints who make me feel fat though. But then you get those in women's mags too. Why can't women's mags have pictures of sexy nearly naked men on the front? Snot fair!!

Ok, I'm coming out of the closet. I used to work on Family magazine (&Womans Journal!) and am v vthrilled that someone read & like them. Thank you so much. I was v sad when Family closed - I thought it was high time women who were mothers had a magazine that covered all aspects of their lives without nagging or patronising. Hey ho. I just think many mothers simply don't have enough time/cash to make magazines a priority.
