it weighs a tonne and is full to bursting point as every time I try to prune it my imagination runs wild on what I might possibly need when out with dd (6 mths) - what do I really need in it?

Nothing in the car either, I liked to live life close to the edge when DS2 was a baby.

Thomcat · 30/07/2006 22:45

It's in my hall at the mo as we had to empty car today and it weighs a ton!

lanismum · 30/07/2006 22:45

< wonders if she should start carrying an overnight holdall under the pram, just in case >

Thomcat · 30/07/2006 22:56

LO - mine would never fit under the buggy!
Great to have one in car though. Ia lso have a pocket fold out kite.
Dp can never say "no, we can;'t we have to get home' ever again!
i love staying out, un planned but prepared!

Enid · 30/07/2006 23:00

god really?

your life must be worlds aparat from mine

we never get to stay out unprepared

Thomcat · 30/07/2006 23:04

Don't know about being worlds `apart but yeah, had a handful of times where we have stayed, or wanted to stay somewhere and it'as all beena bit awkward re clean stuff so now I carry a small beaten distressed leather lonsdale bag with one of everything I might really need for an overnight crash.

expatinscotland · 30/07/2006 23:09

ooooooo, the boot of my car!

it's full!

then there's their bag.

Enid · 30/07/2006 23:10

@ thomcat

Thomcat · 30/07/2006 23:15

LOL - Enid - really don't be , it's been nothing that exciting, honest, The last moment that springs to mine is us in Oxford at easter for egg unt and being asked to stay overnight so we could drink more port and then FIL saying he was off to his place near Bath and inviting is to go ther with him but Dp was all 'gay' and didn't want to cos he didn';t have clean pants / toothbrusha nd girls didn't have stuff. So that was the last time I let him use that as an excuse
i love waking up not in my own bed!!!!

MrsFogi · 30/07/2006 23:19

Lanismum, I'm so pleased to hear someone else has a tape measure in the nappy bag! I've just emptied the bag intending to ditch some things but only managed to jettison the dettol abtibacterial wipes (de rigeur for the paraniod first time mum).

im not really sure why the tape measure is in there, its been there for ages, also have tweezers, for eyebrow/splinter emergencies
