So what's the usual way to go about filling up a car when you have a baby with you?

Dumb question but as I've managed 6 mths without doing so I figure I'd better work it out now - so, at the garage, once you have filled up, do you leave the baby in the car while you pay or do you take baby with you?

I always get mine out - 4 next week and 17 months.

I try to get petrol when they are not with me.

There is one garage which I occasionally go to where the car is parked two steps from the door and have left them in the car once.

It would not occur to me to leave them in the car as a normal event though

Pesme - whilst filling up don't forget to get some coca cola thats always on offer and pringles for yourself

do as I do.....I get my DH to go out and do it, using his own money.

That said....I leave mine in the car, but then there are 5 of them and eldest is 12. when she was a baby tho I used to sweat at the thought of leaving her and so took her with me in her car seat. Soon realised the insanity of that tho....but then i live in bournemouth and so far have yet to hear of anyhting bad happening near me on a petrol forecourt.

I leave mine in the car but must admit am surprised at this thread - thought I would be in the minority.
Lock doors and can see them all the time - far easier than trying to get 4 & 2 yr olds out the car and dodge cars
I try to get petrol while kids at nursery though

Children are not allowed on the ofrcourt of ,y petrol station (Tesco)

therefor IF not paying at pump they have to stay in the locked car
