How can I store all of my earrings?

I've bought rather a lot over the last few weeks in a Sainsbury's sale and don't know how to store them all.
I thought Argos would do some sort of storage but I can't find anything. Or is there something I could make? Thanks for any suggestions.

How about one of those tasteful pottery elephants w/holes in their ears you used to see on 80s dressing tables?

Tee hee.

(sorry i can't offer more useful suggestion!)

A cheapo transparent pill box thingy - the one with am/pm per day?

ComeOVeneer · 25/07/2006 14:35

Try this from Lakeland.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 25/07/2006 14:36

I have a jewelry box with all the right compartments but I find earrings are like socks: one of each pair keeps disappearing.

poisson · 25/07/2006 14:36

beaten

ComeOVeneer · 25/07/2006 14:37

Cod, twas you that introduced me to the joys of Lakeland . (psst I ordered over £100 of stuff from them a few weeks ago).

poisson · 25/07/2006 14:39

i rarely do you know! i pore over the catalogue then never buy it

Judd · 25/07/2006 14:44

where can my necklaces go then please? At the moment they dangle off our horizontal wire light fitting in the bedroom, but we're moving next month so I need something a little more handy!

poisson · 25/07/2006 14:44

someoen tolde me a mug tree

ComeOVeneer · 25/07/2006 14:45

I think I've mentioned to you before my obsession with gadgets. I guilty unpacked the parel and put it all away, but dh keeps coming across them (avocado slicer, pineapple corer etc etc). However he did think the burger maker was good, when we had them at the weekend.

necklaces go on cuphooks / picture hooks / nails /drawing pins on inside of wardrobe door so easy to match with clothes

petunia · 25/07/2006 14:46

Thanks everyone.
Loved the idea of the elephant!
Don't know why I didn't think of Lakeland. (Always go into their stores and spend far too much though!)
One of those pill things might be just the thing.

I have a necklace figure (COD thinks it is vile ). I have seen some metal "hands" (about 10-12 inches high with outspread fingers) to hang them on. My mum has put small hooks on the inside of her wardrobe door to hang her's.

sassy · 25/07/2006 14:48

Does NO one remember the elephant?

I'm off to google...

poisson · 25/07/2006 14:48

DO i?

JackieNo · 25/07/2006 14:50

I had a perspex ring tree in the 80s with holes round the edge to put earrings through. But no elephant.

Dottydot · 25/07/2006 14:50

Ice cube trays for both?!

sunchowder · 25/07/2006 14:53

I think a manequin would do well, you could pierce it all over and put your earrings on! Seriously, if it doesn't have to be chic, take a square of screen material, frame it, put a circle hanger on back of frame and hang on the back of your door--loads of room for lots of earrings! I have a lush box I ordered from QVC that has mega trays in it that is anti tarnish which I love. The one from Lakeland looks really nice too.

Como--I suffer from Compulsive Gastronomic Tool Disorder myself.

ComeOVeneer · 25/07/2006 14:54

Remember these Cod?

poisson · 25/07/2006 14:54

petunia · 25/07/2006 14:56
